When feedback loop can have physical consequences

I approached this hardware project like any software one: move fast, get a prototype, iterate. And it worked flawlessly.

For about 15 seconds, when I realized that I fried its pins by sending 5V where 3.3V was expected.

I’m used to changing a few lines of code and restarting the server when something breaks. Now I need to order a new board and wait a week for it to arrive.

Quite refreshing but also unusual to work in a space where the feedback loop can have physical consequences.
